Where wonder
is the point.
Wren Calloway opened The Moth & Moon in the spring of 2019 after a decade of collecting pressed botanicals, hand-thrown ceramics, and small-batch perfumes from her travels. The shop began as a single sun-filled room above a tea house on Matilija Street and filled quickly with the kind of objects that seemed to arrive by their own logic.
The name came from a journal entry: "There are two things I always stop for — moths at a window and the moon coming up." The shop fills the space between those two impulses. Things that ask you to pay attention. Objects that reward it.
Everything is chosen by hand, sourced directly from makers, or made here in Ojai. We carry nothing we wouldn't keep ourselves.
